About Dan Tushinski Productions

Dan TushinskiOddly enough, I got my start in journalism. I decided to become the next great reporter as a wet-behind-the-ears college grad fresh out of the classrooms of Butler University. The only problem was that I had to earn my stripes by writing obituaries for a local paper. Chasing down facts on the deceased and getting a sampling of newspaper life quickly changed my career goals. I wanted to find a way to use my writing background ins some way shape or form while trying to get out ahead of the technology boom that was occurring.

I managed to find a job writing product and marketing copy for a huge electronics company. It was there where I taught myself HTML & CSS, predominately. I was able to write and learn how to get my content onto the web. Combining marketing, writing, and coding seemed like a good mix…and it all snowballed from there.

I have been combining marketing and technology (geekery as I like to call it) ever since that rather happy occurrence at my early job for the electronics company. My marketing skills now encompass search engine optimization, email strategy, blog implementation and social media planning. I have also expanded my coding knowledge to PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, Javascript and varying CMS and blogging platforms. In a nutshell, I am perfectly at home developing  marketing strategy, defining the proper methods for integrating & optimizing the marketing message and rolling up my sleeves to build the necessary sites, blogs, or applications for promoting the message.

I walk the line between IT and marketing and have learned to translate the needs of both worlds into successful web implementations.
