Indispensable site for latest developer tools and tech products

The speed at which tech and web development move is unrelenting. A new product, framework or useful app appears just as you have finally started utilizing the last set of tools. Items that pique my interest the most, I end up trialing to see how it will fit into my workflows. More often than not the product is not a fit, but was worth a shot. I could spend hours each day reading through countless tweets, blog posts and RSS items and quickly become overwhelmed with info glut.

I count on Product Hunt to help me avoid info glut and mindless web meandering. The sections in which I spend the most time are Tech and Developer Tools. They have a smattering of other sections that may suit you such as Podcasts and Books. Those sections are so geared towards entrepreneurs and start ups (and mention unicorns way too often) that they just become noise. However, if that is your bag, I recommend having a look at those sections and letting me know your thoughts.

The top Tech section “hunts” are emailed to me every day and I get to see what the community most up voted. But the email is usually just a reminder, to me, to go check out the latest items. Not a day goes by where I do not click on a product. Product Hunt has the uncanny ability to suggest products that will solve some work problem I am having. The site was my go to resource for integrating Google Analytics reports into a custom Slack channel, finding resources for stock images and uncovering productivity apps for IOS.

I will be the first to admit I do not dive into all the site offers…such as following collections or authors and I do not upvote products all that much. I am much happier to find a cool tool and try it than upvote. Shame on me. Product Hunt is my one non work related, daily go to site. Check it out and tell me what you think. If you have any sites you rely heavily on, drop me a line so I can check it out.
